Surface Interval — underwater video colour and dive reels

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Surface Interval is an app for iPhone, and for Mac as Surface Interval Desktop, made by Rustam Ismailov. The license for the app itself is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. This page adds the app's daily cap and the license, in three tiers, that extends it. It is written to be read, not to be long.

What the app does

You add a dive's videos from Photos, or from files on a card, a drive or a folder. The app puts back the colour the water took, finds the moments worth keeping, trims them, keeps them in the order they were shot, dissolves between them, lays a music track underneath and saves the reel to Photos. It all runs on your iPhone or Mac. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us.

Free, with a daily cap

The app is free, with a daily cap of two reels and four photos, and each of those carries a small watermark in the corner. Everything else in the app works the same with or without a license.

Beyond the cap: a license in three tiers

Making more than two reels or four photos a day requires a license. The license also unlocks the watermark switch in Settings, so you can turn the mark off; it stays on until you do. The license is the Diver.Today App Family, one license for every Diver.Today app, in three tiers, all bought through Apple: Diver.Today, monthly and Diver.Today, yearly, which are subscriptions, and Diver.Today, for life, paid once. The prices and periods, and any free trial, are shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy. On the Mac, the family purchase arrives with the next Mac version; until then the Mac app still sells its own Week, Year and Lifetime.

Bought in Surface Interval, it works in the other Diver.Today apps; bought in another of them, it works in Surface Interval, on devices signed in to the same iCloud account. On a new iPhone or Mac, or after reinstalling, a license usually comes back by itself; if it does not, use Restore Purchases, reached from the app's Settings. No tier is shared through Family Sharing.

Monthly and yearly

Diver.Today, monthly and Diver.Today, yearly are subscriptions. A free trial, where the app offers one, turns into the subscription when it ends unless you cancel before. Each is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm it, or when the trial ends, and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions; to avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Buying Diver.Today, for life does not cancel a subscription by itself. When a subscription ends, the app goes back to the daily cap, with the watermark on. Nothing you made is touched.

Apple handles the billing, and refunds are Apple's to give: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.

For life

Diver.Today, for life is a one-time payment tied to your Apple Account. It does not expire.

Week, Year and Lifetime bought before

Until October 2026 the app sold its own Week, Year and Lifetime. They are being replaced by the Diver.Today App Family and will stop being sold when its Mac version is released. A Week or Year bought before runs to the end of the period paid for and does not renew. A Lifetime bought before stays a lifetime in Surface Interval, on iPhone and Mac. Neither unlocks the other Diver.Today apps.

Your videos and your reels

Your videos stay yours and stay where they are: the app reads them in place and never copies or uploads them. The reels you make are yours to keep and to post.

Music

The tracks in the app come from Pixabay under its Content License. You may post a reel with the track under your own footage anywhere you like. The license does not allow the track to be taken out of the reel and used on its own.

Changes
